About the Wine
A red wine made by Allumea. A great all-rounder, as good with Mediterranean dishes as with spicy food or a Sunday roast. Made in Italy from Nero d'Avola and Merlot grapes, the wine is not only vegetarian and vegan friendly, but organic certified and ethically produced. Supplied by Orion Wines. New to the range as part of our Autumn Release 2019.
Merlot produces medium bodied, fleshy, juicy wines with round tannins. Often seen as a single varietal, or in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to take the hard edges off. Its grown all over the world and commercially one of the most important red grapes in the on-trade.
Nero d'Avola can be made into dense and dark wine that is stored in oak barrels and suitable for aging, or young and fresh wines. Typically has high tannins, medium acid and a strong body.
