Portobello Road Gin
Portobello Road No. 171 London Dry Gin was released by the award-wining Notting Hill bar, Portobello Star, home of the Ginsitute. On the palate there is a generous slug of juniper with a sustained, fresh citrus character from their use of lemon, bitter orange and coriander. This develops into a sweet peppery finish which is achieved by the use of liquorice and nutmeg.

Without Juniper, there would be no gin at all. The origins of gin as we know it date back to 16th century Holland where Juniper and grain spirit were combined to produce a spirit called Genever. These 'berries' have a herbaceous, piney flavour with citrus notes.

Lemon peel provides a deep lemon flavour to drinks. During the distillery process, the warm and vapour will make this botanical to release its oils that will apport citrus and floral notes into the spirit base.
