Pinot Gris Alsace Tradition Organic, Emile Beyer 13%
Hand-harvested Pinot Gris grapes from a single vineyard planted on limestone soils are employed to make this aromatic wine. Fermented in stainless steel using the yeasts already on the grapes and in the winery; it undergoes four months ageing on the fine lees. Shows smoky notes and yellow fruit such as peach and apricot beside bergamot aromas.

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are one in the same grape variety, but quite different in style. Pinot Grigio has gained an immense following in the UK, and most hails from north-east Italy, Veneto. It's lighter in style and best drunk young. Pinot Gris tends to have more body and is more vicious in texture.
