About the Wine
This excellent red Wine produced by Castelbello is grown in Italy. This wine is exclusive to Matthew Clark, you won't find it at multiple retailers. Available in 75cl bottles, supplied by Enoitalia. Castelbello Rosso, Italia is a delicious wine, made with Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. This screwcap wine is one of a growing number in our list that can be enjoyed by vegan drinkers. Good with light Mediterranean dishes with cream, cheese or tomato sauces. This a core range wine.
Merlot produces medium bodied, fleshy, juicy wines with round tannins. Often seen as a single varietal, or in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to take the hard edges off. Its grown all over the world and commercially one of the most important red grapes in the on-trade.
At its best Sangiovese produces great wines, such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalchino as well as used in blends coined as Super Tuscans. Sangiovese is high in acidity with a sour red cherry fruit character, and sometimes quite earthy with grippy tannin.
