About Château Pédesclaux
The three properties Château d'Issan, Château Pédesclaux and Château Lilian Ladouys are owned and managed by a partnership of the Cruse and Lorenzetti families. Emmanuel Cruse is the General Manager of all three properties and owns a 50% share of Château d'Issan, whilst Jacky Lorenzetti has the other 50% share of Château d’Issan and is owner of the other two.
The Cruse family has been established in Bordeaux for more than 200 years. Over the centuries they have invested in different estates in the Médoc region: including the chateaux of Pontet Canet, Giscours, Rauzan Segla, Haut-Bages Libéral and just after the Second World War, Château d’Issan. When the Cruse family acquired Château d’Issan, the vineyard was in ruins. Since then they have restructured the vineyards to highlight the authenticity of its unique terroir in Margaux. The wine was notably served during the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry Plantagenet (later to be Henry II King of England) in 1152.
In 2008, the Lorenzetti family decided to invest in their two passions: rugby and wine. First they acquired Château Lilian Ladouys, a Cru Bourgeois in Saint-Estèphe and a neighbour of Château Cos d’Estournel. The following year they continued their adventure with Château Pédesclaux, a classified growth in Pauillac, located between the châteaux of Pontet Canet, Mouton Rothschild, and Lafite Rothschild. It was at this time, the Cruse and Lorenzetti families started to build and develop a strong relationship, and in 2013 the two families decided to unify their passion, sharing the ownership of Château d’Issan.
