Before using online ordering, you will need to have a Matthew Clark account;


Opening a Matthew Clark account+

It's easy to open an account with us online.
  • Before you begin, make sure you have the following to hand:

    • Bank account details
    • Company registration information
    • AWRS number if applicable
    • Previous account details if you have traded with us before
    • Two forms of identification

  • Navigate to open an account
  • Complete the form fields
  • Create a strong password and click Register
  • Open our verification email and click the verification link
  • You can now complete the form in your own time
  • Save and close, if you'd like to return to the application later
  • Login on the open an account page using your verified email and the password you created
  • Upload your documents
  • Once all fields are completed, click submit

I am a existing customer but need log-in details +

To activate your online ordering account, you must be a customer. When you open a Matthew Clark account you are now automatically activated and do not need to go this again.
  • You will need their ship to number, which can be found:

    • At the top of your previous invoices
    • In the welcome email from your account manager
    • By getting in touch with our customer services team
  • Navigate to the Register page
  • Confirm you have an active Matthew Clark account

  • Complete the form fields and click Validate
  • Our team will send you your details by email

How can I change the information I've submitted?
Please email our team to update your email or phone number.


Once your account is set up, we will automatically send you an email containing your username and a link to create a password for online ordering. Keep an eye out for this email and check your trash and junk; if you haven't had this within a week get in touch.

Managing your online account


Creating new users+

Adding more users to your account, allows multiple people to build and place orders.
  • Navigate to My Account
  • Select Invite Additional Buyers
  • Complete the form fields and click Submit
  • You'll now be able to review the buyers on your account
  • Your new buyer will receive an email notification to set a password

Manage your account settings +

You can manage some of your online ordering account on the My Account page;

  • Navigate to My Account
  • Updating your password
    • Select Change Password under Security Settings
    • Complete the form fields and click Change Password
  • Show prices excluding VAT
    • Select Excluding Vat under Customisation

Running order reports+

Learn more about your purchases with Order Analysis Reports.

  • Navigate to My Account

  • Select Order Analysis Report under My Reports
  • Complete the criteria for the report you wish to generate and click Generate Report

Do my reports show telephone orders?
Yes, but only orders placed after you activated your online account.

Viewing your order history+

Find previous orders; view and download an order summary.

  • Navigate to My Account

  • Select My Order History under My History
  • Complete the criteria for the orders you wish to see and click find
  • Click an order number to view the individual order detail

  • Click Download to export an order summary

    1. Approve Orders - Authorise orders placed by other buyers, if enabled
    2. Order Status Profile - Summary of recent order statuses
    3. Quick Order Pad - Easy ordering using our product codes
    4. Useful Tools - Popular quick links
    5. Company Order Pads - Your saved quick shopping lists
    6. Account Details - Summary and next delivery day information

Using quick order pads+

You can quickly place your orders if you have the product codes to hand using the Quick Order Pad.
  • Navigate to Order Now
  • Under Quick Order Pad, Enter;
    • The product code, starting with 000
    • The quantity required, single bottles or prepacked cases
  • Once completed, click Order Now
  • You can review and amend your order on the following page.
  • To copy and paste or import a CSV file of your order, click CSV Upload

Can I repeat a previous order? Yes, Select 'Repeat this order' when viewing the previous order.
Can I set an order pad for each of my venues? Yes, using our head office tools.

Managing and using saved order pads+

Create and manage your order pads to have a quick order list always close at hand

  • Navigate to My Account
  • To create a new order pad
    • Select Order Pad Management under My Order Pads
    • Select the Please Select dropdown box, followed by New and then click Select Pad
    • Enter a name for your list and click Create New Order Pad
    • Type product codes or product names, and then select Add
    • Once completed, select Update Order Pad to save your order pad
  • To edit a saved order pad
    • Select My Saved Order Pads under My Order Pads
    • Select the Please Select dropdown box, the list you wish to edit and click Select Pad
    • Click Edit Order Pad
    • Add products entering the product code or name and clicking Add
    • Remove individual products by selecting delete next to the product name
    • Remove multiple products by select each tick box followed by Delete Selected
    • Once completed, select Update Order Pad to save your order pad
  • Using a saved order pad
    • Navigate to Order Now
    • Select the list you wish to use under Company Order Pads
    • Input require quantities and click Add Items To Basket

Checking stock levels+

  • Build your order by adding items to your Basket
  • Navigate to your Basket
  • Review your order and select Proceed to checkout
  • If stock of a product cannot be reserved, you will receive the following message

Can I place a 'back order'?
Yes, you can order up to five weeks in advance by selecting your preferred delivery date on the basket page.

A certain product is always out of stock?
Please ask your account manager about stock forecasting.

Using a Head Office login+

If you have logins for multiple venues, we can make it easier for you with a single username and password that has access to them all.

  • Our MC Live Support team can create a Head Office login for you.

  • Log in using your Head Office login
  • Navigate to My Account
  • Select View Buyers in Company under Account Details
  • Click Show next to the venue login you wish to use
  • You can now place an order for this delivery address by adding products to your basket.

Explore the Promotions page+

If eligible, your promotions page will show you all the offers available to you. From here, you can filter the promotions you see by:
    1. Type - Filter offers by Type.
    2. Category - Filter promotions by product category.
    3. View All - Show all available promotions.
    4. Options - Filter selection.
    5. Icon - Indicates the type of promotion.
    6. View Offer - View more information and purchase.

Yes, you can browse your brochure online, you just need your ship to. number.

Why can't I see promotions?
Not all customers are eligible, please speak to your account manager.


Checking out


Reviewing your order+

  • Navigate to your Basket
  • Change quantities by using the buttons or by entering a number and clicking the refresh icon
  • To remove a product completely, click the trash icon
  • Order up to 5 weeks in advance by changing your preferred delivery day
  • Finally, select Proceed to checkout and after a final review click Confirm your order

Making a payment+

If you have a credit account with us, you can simply checkout and manager account payments with ebilling. For prepayment accounts you can pay with credit or debit card using the Sage payment gateway, an easy and secure way to make payments by card.

  • Once you're happy with your order, click Proceed to checkout
  • Review your delivery information and click Proceed to Payment
  • Have one last check of everything and click Confirm your order
  • If you've selected to pay by card, you'll now be asked to enter these details
  • Otherwise the balance will be added to your credit account and the order confirmed

Placing a guest order+

Guest checkout offers our top selling products for free delivery within 3-5 five working days. For access to our full range, next day delivery, dedicated account management and much more open an account today.
  • You do not need a Matthew Clark account, but you must:

    • Be ordering for and to a business
    • Have your delivery address registered with the Royal Mail as a business premises
    • Order up to the maximum order value of £1,500
    • Checkout using a credit or debit card
    • Familiarise yourself with our Guest Checkout FAQs

  • Navigate to our product listings

  • Build your order with eligible products

  • Click the trolley icon to begin checkout

  • Complete the form fields and click Proceed to Payment
  • Select the Be our guest option
  • Review our Terms and Conditions for Guest Checkout
  • Complete your declarations
  • Complete the reCaptcha and click submit
  • You'll now be taken to the Sage payment gateway to complete your order
