The family farm was settled in 1730 by Bartolomeo Bocelli; in the 1930s, Alcide Bocelli the years the family developed their skills making wine. This work was continued by his son, Alessandro and today by Alberto and Andrea Bocelli.
Andrea Bocelli is the most successful classical music artist of all time, with over 70 million albums sold. Celine Dion once said, ‘If God had a singing voice, it would be the one of Andrea Bocelli.’. Through his soaring tenor, and his personable style, he has made opera accessible to millions of people worldwide.
There are few things that are as important to Andrea as his family’s wines. ‘When I return home after my long trips, the joy that I receive from the taste of wine from my land is hard to match. It brings me back in time, to memories of my father, of him pouring the wine with a quasi-religious respect. … it is now my honour to be an ambassador for these wines.’
The Bocelli family’s oenologist is Paolo Caciorgna, one of Tuscany’s most respected winemakers. All the grapes for Bocelli Family Wines are hand-harvested, the vineyards are farmed without irrigation and no pesticides or chemical agents are used in them.
