About the Wine

Some of the best wines in Europe simply don’t conform to the rules, think Super Tuscans in Italy. La Unica, from Pagos del Rey, is at the extreme end of this scale across Northern Spain’s key wine regions. Classified as simply table wine, this is a ‘best of the best’ blend where winemakers put forward their best barrels for a final taste off and blending master class that brings together outstanding parcels of Tempranillo from Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Toro. Each label for every bottle is hand painted by acclaimed Argentinian artist Mariano Rinaldi Goni. Now living in Berlin and running one of the city’s cutting edge restaurants, along with his art gallery, Mariano’s artistic flare combines wine and sensuality in an elegant and playful manner, reflecting the character of the wine
