About the Wine
This red wine is made by Granfort in Languedoc-Roussillon. Good with light Mediterranean dishes with cream, cheese or tomato sauces. It is created with mosty Merlot grapes. You shouldn't find this wine anywhere else, it is exclusive to Matthew Clark. Supplied by LGI (Viticulteurs de L'Union).
Merlot produces medium bodied, fleshy, juicy wines with round tannins. Often seen as a single varietal, or in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to take the hard edges off. Its grown all over the world and commercially one of the most important red grapes in the on-trade.
Most of France enjoyed a long, glorious warm summer, which set wineries up for a great 2018 vintage. A welcome relief from the previous one which was the smallest since World War II.Explore France
