World Gin Day

World Gin Day Tonic.JPG

11th June is World Gin Day and what better time to celebrate. The quintessential British Summer is here; cricket, tennis, football, BBQ's. What you don’t want to be missing from these great events is gin!

July and August see the highest consumption of gin across the on-trade, other than Christmas. It’s the king and supreme ruler of summer and we’re all mere disciples held in its beautifully refreshing grip! It is more a part of the British summer than listening to Mungo Jerry’s ‘In the Summer Time’ or getting sand in your sandwiches at the beach.

So to celebrate World Gin Day, we’re showing off some of the amazing gins we stock at Matthew Clark from around the world, including a few favourites from home. So let’s join together for a very British summer with an ice cold gin and tonic in hand.

Larios - #1 selling gin in Spain. Drier and smoother than traditional London dry gins it is characterised by clarity, freshness of aroma and delicate citrus flavour.

Larios 12 – The premium expression of Larios at 40% ABV. A combination of twelve aromatic botanicals blended together in four distillations. Smooth, soft and silky taste with a refreshing and crisp flavour.

Elephant Gin – Handmade in Germany with botanicals from the far reaches of Africa makes this gin rather exotic and quite unique. A subtle juniper nose with smooth, floral flavours.

Gin Mare – A super premium delight from Spain. No gin is quite like Gin Mare with basil from Italy, thyme from Greece, rosemary from Turkey and citrus fruits from Spain, it is truly a world leading gin.

Blackwoods - Shetland is an enchanting, wild, natural world, which makes it the perfect place to pick the botanicals used in Blackwood’s. An abundance of citrus on the nose, and an extremely smooth yet crisp herbal and floral finish on the palate.

King of Soho - At 42% ABV this super premium gin is bespoke, smooth and full-bodied. Distilled in the heart of London the striking bottle characterises everything that makes King of Soho such a unique gin.

Caorunn - Beautifully mixing the rugged charm of Speyside with the urban sophistication of modern Scotland Caorunn expertly infuses five locally foraged gin botanicals to create a gin of supreme quality.

No 209 Premium – Made in San Francisco, No 209 Premium is a citrus led London dry. With a completely unique recipe and the use of 11 botanicals it has a wonderfully distinctive flavour.
