About the wine maker
Established by Bob Lindo in the 1980s, Camel Valley’s current winemaker is his son Sam. Situated between Wadebridge and Bodmin, the estate has become one of England’s finest wine producers: Matthew Jukes recently reported, ‘Camel Valley is the most impressive estate on our shores and without a doubt, the number one winery in the country.’ The Camel Valley vineyards and winery are located between Bodmin and Wadebridge, in the heart of Cornwall, on a south facing hill that slopes down to the banks of the River Camel. Since 1989 the Lindo family have been producing world-class award-winning wines. Sam Lindo, the son of the estate's founder, is the winemaker. He has a modern approach to winemaking and, most importantly, a passion for creating wines that provide pure pleasure. Camel Valley won an unprecedented two Gold medals, a Silver and two Bronze medals at the 2014 International Wine Challenge. Notably the 2012 Pinot Noir Brut Rosé won Gold and the Sparkling Rosé Trophy at the 2014 International Wine Challenge. In November 2015, the Pinot Noir Rosé won first prize at the inaugural UK Fizz Festival, the award was decided on the votes of 400 visitors that attended the event.
