Minervois, Cuvée Maxime, Borie de Maurel

Minervois, Cuvée Maxime, Borie de Maurel

Deep and structured wine made from the Mourvèdre grape grown on south-west facing vineyards with fine sandy-clay soils, surrounded by ‘the garrigue’. The vines are old and the yield low; hand-picked and de-stemmed the grapes spend up to 45 days fermenting and the wine is aged for 18 months in 600 litre oak casks (demi-muids). Dark and concentrated, with notes of spices, aromas of fig and leather, silky tannins and a voluptuous peppery, finish.
