Marques de Casa Concha Syrah, Buin, Concha y Toro

Marques de Casa Concha Syrah, Buin, Concha y Toro

Made with Syrah harvested from the Quinta de Maipo Vineyard, in Buin, just south of Santiago in the Maipo Valley; here the climate is semi-arid, Mediterranean, with a cooling influence from the nearby Andes. The River bench associated soils are alluvial, stony, poor in nutrients and highly permeable due to the gravel sub-soil. Hand-harvested with a rigorous approach to selection; the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Very ripe and dense, remarkably focused, showing solid blackberry and cherry aromas, notes of black tar and pepper spice; the palate is firm with fine-grained tannins supporting bright fruit and complexity.
