Drylands Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Drylands Pinot Noir, Marlborough

The fruit for this Marlborough Pinot Noir comes from three vineyards that each bring their own character to the wine. Ballochdale, in the Awatere Valley, is a relatively high-altitude vineyard producing wines with fresh, lifted, juicy raspberry and cherry flavours; Brooklands Vineyard in the Southern Valleys region provides dark berry fruit flavours and more richness, whilst the Hay Block in the Waihopai Valley supplies wines with elegance and weight that allow for longer barrel ageing. A mixture of wild and cultivated yeasts are employed and French oak barrels, 20% new, were used to age the wine prior to blending. Vibrant, with toast, cherry and savoury notes; the palate is silky smooth and finish generous and long.
