I work for Matthew Clark as Marketing Communications Executive which mainly sees me working on the digital aspects such as social media and of course the website as well as on our events. I was a cocktail bartender for while before joining but I now spend most of my time on the other side of the bar.
I came to love wine relatively late in life (at the ripe old age of 24) but since then, what a love affair! The whole category is so exciting and I feel very privileged to get to work with amazing wines and the incredible people behind them on a day-to-day basis.
I'm lucky to have had grandparents that loved great food. I think they were quite proud of their well behaved grandson and regularly took me out to the finest restaurants. This exposure (and their love of Burgundies) has given me a real passion for hospitality and taste experiences - no more so than those provided by wine.
My responsibilities include the implementation of the regional marketing plan, co-managing regional events, promotions and incentives. I have a keen interest in product and range development and sit on the New Product Listing Committee who are collectively responsible for agreeing new product listings throughout the business.
True to the cause I am a huge fan of the odd glass of beer (in the right glass of course!) so working on the beer team is kinda perfect. Starting 8 years ago for Matthew Clark I have learnt a huge amount about the On-Trade and love talking about all things beer, cider and soft drinks related.
Anthony has been working with wine since 1995 having worked in retail and wholesale, independent family run outfits and large companies such as Matthew Clark. Along with his years in the food industry, Anthony has an excellent understanding of the requirements of the On-Trade market, from boutique restaurants, to conference and wedding venues.
Jemma joined us in 2015 as Wine Marketing Manager. Having completed a university placement with Champagne Tattinger, she quickly fell in love with the industry, since then she worked with Majestic before moving from retail to the vibrant On-Trade with Matthew Clark!
Having acquiring an Ecology degree from London University, which I wasn’t quite sure how to use, I took a part-time job at Oddbins. This initial temporary job has since led to a thirty-year journey into the world of wine which has been hugely enjoyable.
I’m a Spirits Marketing Executive and in my role I contribute to the daily running of the spirits department, traveling the country to participate in our very successful Uncovered events and working on customer brochures.
Alastair is founder of Catton Hospitality, a leading provider of labour scheduling software (S4Labour), training and consultancy. He is passionate about reducing operating costs in the hospitality industry through improved labour management and operational efficiency. S4Labour is an efficient way to schedule rotas in line with sales forecasts, ensuring sites are appropriately staffed.
After working in the Hospitality industry in various roles in the Netherlands and China I now support our London Sales and Wine Development teams. I am very passionate about wine and am now undertaking the challenge of the Master of Wine programme in South Africa.
Since joining Matthew Clark as Wine Buyer I have been to many wine regions but my favourite experience was whilst on honeymoon in Argentina at Bodegas Salentein sipping wine in the shadow of the Andes.
Susan McCraith Master of Wine has over 25 years’ experience in the wine industry. Her first job was in Bordeaux and from there she went to Cognac and was taught how to taste while working for Hennessy. Back here, she became a Director at Howells of Bristol winning the Vintners’ Scholarship followed by the Rouyer Guillet cup for the top Diploma mark and passing the Master of Wine examination first time round with an award for the top dissertation.
Jacqueline Cameron is our resident PR guru and spends most of her time talking about, writing about and tasting wines, beers and spirits. Having spent some time living in Spain, she is biased towards Spanish wines and beers (especially when paired with some tapas)!
